September 2011 - Feedback on UK Social Unrest- URGENT

URGENT – FEEDBACK REQUIRED to emcfadmin@btconnect.com

If you have relevant information on the background to or handling of recent civil unrest please e-mail me with answers to the following by 5pm Thursday 15th . FaithtoEngage is reporting to the Communities & Victims Panel and debating with representatives later this month

  1. Why do you think the riots happened in some areas and didn’t happen in other areas?
  2. How do you think communities can be made more socially and economically resilient in the future, in order to prevent future problems?
  3. In your opinion, what could have been done differently to prevent or manage the riots?
  4. If there were riots in your area, give your understanding on what was the motivation for a small minority of people to take part in the riots, in your region?
  5. If there were riots in your area, how did key public services engage with communities before, during and after the riots?
  6. If there were riots in your area, and if members of the public responded positively, what motivated local people to come together to take civic action to resist riots in their area or to clean up after riots had taken place
Responses by 5pm Thursday 15th September would be particularly welcome
